The Longmont Library is honored to host a special event shedding light on the remarkable rescue efforts undertaken by the esteemed Rocky Mountain Rescue Group throughout Boulder County.
Scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, this enlightening session aims to showcase the heroic endeavors and vital contributions of this dedicated all-volunteer team in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.
The event will feature key representatives from the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, offering firsthand insights into their unparalleled commitment to saving lives in Boulder County's challenging terrains.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the group's specialized skills, equipment, and the rigorous training that enables them to respond swiftly to emergencies, including mountain rescues, wilderness searches, and more.
Through captivating presentations and gripping accounts of real-life rescue missions, participants will witness the bravery and resilience of the volunteers who selflessly dedicate their time and expertise to protect and assist those in need.
The nature of calls for rescue are diverse and range from hikers with sprained ankles, to fallen climbers, to avalanches, to downed aircraft.
