St. Vrain School Board Renews Contract for myON Reading Program

On Wednesday night, the St. Vrain Valley School Board unanimously agreed to extend the contract for the myON Reader Program for another year beginning October 2018.

The myOn Reading Program gives students access to over 4,500 digital books students which can be read online.

According to a memorandum presented to the school board, "We have had access through the program for the past five years and have seen strong results and positive feedback from schools and the community. Our goal with this program is to increase learning time at home with the infusion of reading for all students daily."

The myON contract will provide access to all elementary schools, Spark! Discovery Preschool, three K-8 schools and Longs Peak Middle School for an additional year.

The cost of the myON renewal for one year for the 29 sites listed above is $5,710 each with a combined total of $165,590.

In addition to the renewal costs per site, there is a day in August 2019 reserved for professional development and learning of the program. The cost of this event is $2,000.

Combined the total cost to renew the myON contract for an additional year is $167,590.
