Wednesday night the St. Vrain Valley School Board approved the purchase of network switches, access points, controller licenses and phones for the amount of $521,420.85 to Venture Technologies.
According to the memorandum presented to the school board, this purchase is, "part of an upgrade to the District network infrastructure and new construction (Elementary #27, Erie PK-8 and the Innovation Center). The funding for this purchase is from bond and mill levy dollars dedicated to technology."
In December 2017, Bid No. 2018-027 was made and was responded by four companies: Total Communications, Inc., Venture Technologies, Sentinel Technologies and Global Technology Resources, Inc.
All responses were reviewed by the district, "for minimum qualifications, equivalency of products and compatibility with the existing network. One (1) response, Total Communications, Inc., did not bid on all required products. Award is recommended to the lowest qualified, responsive and responsible bidder, Venture Technologies."
