St. Vrain Valley School District high school graduates later this month will finally get to attend their graduation ceremonies, but those ceremonies will be much different than years past as officials look to safely celebrate students during the coronavirus pandemic.

In a letter sent Wednesday to parents of graduates, the district stated it received final approval from Boulder County Public Health to proceed with modified outdoor ceremonies. The ceremonies, with some exceptions, will be at 9 a.m. July 25 at individual school fields or stadiums.

Graduates will each be limited to two guests who live in their households, and all graduates, guests and staff must wear face coverings when entering and exiting the stadiums, as well as during transitions during the ceremony, according to the letter. The district stated it has ordered special masks to allow grads to show their school pride.

All seating will be assigned and graduates and guests must register to attend via a link that was included in the letter. Household groups will be spaced 12 feet apart, according to the district.

Students are asked to arrive in their caps and gowns, and all students and guests will not be allowed to congregate before or after ceremonies. Guests, students or staff exhibiting symptoms of illness are asked not to attend.

No practice ceremonies will be held and graduates and guests will be notified of logistics as soon as details are finalized, according to the district.

Graduation ceremonies also will be livestreamed and links will be provided closer to July 25, the district stated.

Ceremonies for the following schools will be held at their respective home fields or stadiums on July 25: Erie, Frederick, Longmont, Lyons, Mead, Niwot, Silver Creek and Skyline.

Other ceremonies will be held on the following dates:
