As warmer weather approaches, organizations are gearing up for summer camp.

Out Boulder County is hosting a camp for LGBTQ youth ages 13-17 at no cost. Campers will spend a week — Aug. 6-10 — in Winter Park exploring the great outdoors while building community, according to a OBC flyer.

Applications for the camp are now available through April 15. Interviews for the camp will be scheduled at the end of April. Announcements for the 18 campers who receive a spot will happen in mid-May.

The city of Longmont also offers a selection of summer day camps to locals ages 5-13. Other camp options include learning to sew, comics and manga, fiber arts camps and more.

Sunflower Farms is offering a full-day summer camp that runs from May 31 to Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for campers ages 5-10. The camp introduces children to rural, farm life. A preschool camp option is also available.

ABLE to Sail is a camp designed to promote self-esteem in youth by learning to sail at Union Reservoir.

The Ed and Ruth Lehman YMCA, located at 950 Lashley Street, has camps designed for campers entering Kindergarten through sixth grade. The camp listing includes magic, fine arts, hero camps and more.

Students interested in robotics can learn from Longmont’s world record-setting Up-A-Creek Robotics team. The team offers a number of camps for students in the fifth through 12th grades.

Longmont Climbing Collective is offering students a chance to reach new heights through its series of summer camps. The camps focus on climbing techniques, team building and strength and conditioning.

For campers who prefer to play music, Mojo’s Music has camps throughout the summer. The camp mimics that of a rock band and students get to explore a variety of instruments.

This list is not exhaustive of all the camps happening in or around Longmont. If there is a camp you would like added please let us know at [email protected].
