Sunset Golf Course is hosting its 100th birthday party next week with a “ParTee” at the clubhouse, Thursday, Aug. 18 from 5-8 p.m.

The event is free, open to the public, and will include family-friendly food, games, giveaways and live music by Old’s Cool Rock, which plays rock and R&B hits from the 60s and 70s, according to a news release.

The first 200 guests will enjoy free hotdogs and chips. Additional food and beverages, as well as commemorative 100-year anniversary merchandise, will be available for purchase, organizers say. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

“Sunset is a beautiful tree-lined course with great views and a rich history,” said Sam Calhoon, city of Longmont recreation program coordinator in the news release. “We will honor that 100-year history with a terrific celebration. Staff are making the preparations necessary to ensure the event is a hold-in-one.”

The Sunset clubhouse is located at 1900 Longs Peak Avenue. Free parking will be available in the adjacent Sunset Pool parking lot and the pool will be closed for the event, the news release states.

Due to construction, parking will be limited along Longs Peak Avenue, and the sidewalk will be closed east of the course.
