Suspect in Church Arson Apprehended

Police arrested the suspect on October 15 without incident and transported him to the Boulder County Jail.

On October 13 Longmont Police reported that a fire had been set at the Central Longmont Presbyterian Church, located at 402 Kimbark St.

The police reached out to the Longmont community to identify the suspect.

Through tips supplied by the community, the police identified Cassidy Moroney, a transient male as the suspect in question. Police arrested Moroney on October 15 without incident and transported him to the Boulder County Jail.

Moroney's photo is being withheld pending photo line-ups with additional witnesses.

The Longmont Police Department extends it thanks to the community for their assistance in this case.
