The Sunshine Club of Longmont is hosting a tea and bake sale to raise money to help Longmont’s youth with dental exams. The public is invited to attend.

The Sunshine Club spends January through April hosting dental screenings at schools throughout the St. Vrain Valley School District by partnering with dental professionals from local clinics and Salud Family Health Center.

Following the screenings, The Sunshine Club works with families to provide financial support to address urgent dental needs.

This year the club hosted screenings for 906 students. Of those, 108 had urgent dental needs. The club also helped 849 students receive sealants to prevent future cavities.

The tea will be held on May 8 fro 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1921 Panorama Circle. Cash and check donations will be accepted at the tea. All donations support the youth screening program, a Senior Smiles program, career dental scholarships, emergency family assistance and community service projects.

The event is open to the public. Parking in the area is limited, however, those interested in attending can park at the Sunset Golf Course and follow the signs to the back entrance of the home hosting the tea.
