Longmont City Council will host Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, August 26, at The Brewing Market, 1520 S. Hover St. You can talk informally with at least two council members on any topic of your choice, and the coffee’s on us! Council members Moore and Christensen are scheduled to attend. Longmont’s SW Underpass Projects Bring New Hover Street Connections
The Hover Street pedestrian and bicycle underpass at Dry Creek is officially open for use. The Hover Street underpass at Dry Creek ties in to the Dry Creek Greenway trail and offers connectivity between the shopping center, Village at the Peaks, on the east side of Hover Street and the residential and commercial areas to the west. Customers and employees alike will be able to use the underpass to conveniently move around this bustling westside area.
Longmont Rec Center Maintenance Closure
Every year in late summer the City’s recreation facilities close for maintenance on systems and equipment. The Longmont Recreation Center, 310 Quail Road, is closed from August 27 through September 3 and will reopen on Labor Day, Monday, September 4, with special holiday hours from 10 am to 4 pm. New 3v3 Age 40+ Men’s Basketball League
Join Recreation Services’ new 3v3 age 40+ men’s basketball league played half court on Wednesday nights at the St. Vrain Memorial Building. Election time is near, and you can register now to track your ballot through the process. Boulder County’s BallotTrax system send a series of alerts notifying you where your ballot is from printing to acceptance. Visit BoulderCounty.org/elections and click on “Ballot Track” to get started. At this site you also can register to vote and check and update your registration.
Holiday Closures
Longmont city government observes the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 4. The following facilities will be CLOSED: Civic Center, Service Center, Development Services Center, Museum, Library, Senior Center, Youth Center, Waste Diversion Center, St. Vrain Memorial Building and Centennial Pool. The Library and Centennial Pool also will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, September 2 and 3. The Longmont Recreation Center will be open from 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunset Pool will be open for the final day of the season from 10 am to 5 pm.
