2024 Downtown Summer Concert

On Saturday, June 1, head to 4th Avenue and Kimbark Street to dance in the street and enjoy local food, drink, and great live music from 4:30-9 pm. Bring the whole family for an interactive, kid-focused performance by Jeff & Paige at 4:30-5:30 pm, then stick around for music from Antonio Lopez Band and Drunken Hearts. Library’s Summer Reading Pool Party

Celebrate the beginning of summer with a FREE pool party from 5:30-7:30 pm on Friday, May 24 at Sunset Pool, 1900 Longs Peak Ave.! Join the Longmont Library’s Children and Teens librarians and staff from Recreation Services for a fun afternoon outside. Pick up your Summer Reading Bingo Board (or Textual Pursuit for adults), Library Summer Programs brochure, take a swim in the pool, slide down the water slides, and even sign up for swim lessons! Coffman St. bus stops move; open house with FREE tacos!

Work on the Coffman Street Mobility Improvement Project is planned to begin in June. In advance of this work, the RTD bus stops at 8th Avenue and Coffman Street will be relocated to Bross Street, likely on Sunday, May 26. Information on these and other downtown projects will be the focus of a Downtown Projects Open House from 5-7 pm on Thursday, May 30 at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Ave. Free tacos will be served! Fire station open houses

Meet your Longmont firefighters and tour the stations! Longmont Fire will host three open houses in 2024. From 10 am-noon on Saturday, June 1 visit Longmont Fire Station 2, 2212 17th Ave., where antique fire trucks will be on display and you can meet the Wildland Fire Team. Other open houses include Saturday, July 20 at Longmont Fire Station 6, 501 S. Pratt Pkwy.; and Saturday, Oct. 26 at Longmont Fire Station 5, 617 Barberry Drive.

Longmont Sustainability Coalition

Are you curious about the City of Longmont's sustainability and climate action priorities? Join the Longmont Sustainability Coalition! There is no commitment; simply sign up and attend as many meetings as you'd like. The next meeting is from 5:15-6:45 pm on Thursday June 6 on Zoom. It will feature a guest presentation from the City’s Energy Portfolio Development Manager. Hands-on LEGO exhibit opens June 1 at Longmont Museum!

Make plans to visit the Longmont Museum for their newest interactive exhibit – “Build: Design & Create with LEGO!” – sure to captivate guests of all ages. Build and race a LEGO car, tackle an architectural challenge, save the world with a wondrous invention, or explore and play as far as your imagination takes you. Children, Youth & Families celebrates 40 years

Mark your calendars! Longmont’s Children, Youth & Families division as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Youth Center on Friday, June 21. The fun begins at 2:45 pm at the Youth Center, 1050 Lashley St., with food, music, youth activities, tours and community. At 5 pm, guests will be invited to walk across the park to Lashley Street Station to view the CommUNITY in Focus: Youth Photography Exhibit. Activity pools open for season

Geared toward children ages 10 and younger and their guardians, Longmont’s two activity pools offer zero depth entry and fun amenities including water slides, bucket dumps and fun places to splash and play. Kanemoto Pool, 1151 S. Pratt Pkwy., opens Friday, May 31. Roosevelt Pool, 903 8th Ave., opens Tuesday, June 4. For daily hours, visit the Longmont pools webpage or call 303-774-4700.

Time for outdoor swim season!

Enjoy fun in the sun at Longmont’s outdoor pools and swim areas this summer. Sunset Pool, 1900 Longs Peak Ave., opens Thursday, May 23 with pre-summer hours and limited amenities. A heated outdoor pool designed for the entire family, Sunset Pool features six lap lanes, a large wading area, three diving boards and two fast and fun water slides. The Union Reservoir swim beach, 461 County Road 26, opens for the Memorial Day holiday weekend on Friday, May 24. Regular park entrance fees apply. Learn more at the Longmont pools webpage .

Junior Golf begins at Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks Golf Course, 1200 Cornell Drive, offers Monday First Step and Tuesday Next Step Junior Golf drop-in programs for youth beginning Tuesday, May 28. Group lessons from 10-11:30 am are for new and ongoing Junior Golfers through age 18. Skills, fundamentals, and etiquette are taught, with an emphasis on having fun and being safe. The camp is $20 per session, and Next Step participants can play up to 9 holes after the lesson for an additional $7 per player. No registration is required.
