YouTuber Tim Marks is trading in his Indiana roots for a taste of Colorado and bringing a tractor-load of knowledge with him. Marks will share tractor tips and tricks during a Future Farmers of America fundraising event at 4Rivers Equipment on April 29.

Marks started Tractor Time with Tim, his YouTube channel, in 2015 and covers content ranging from tractor maintenance to home gardening.

“We got a little tractor for therapy really … We started publishing videos for just the family to see,” Marks said.

The small audience grew to more than 210,000 subscribers and after 30 years of working in software, Marks left his job and pursued his YouTube channel full-time, alongside his wife.

“She does all the camera work and the editing. I often say she does all the work and I take all the credit,” chuckled Marks.

Together, they’ve built a community of tractor enthusiasts.

“The tractor community — from the dealers to the manufacturers — is a more wholesome community than a lot of the tech world where it’s ‘dog eat dog’,” Marks said.

The Longmont fundraising event has attracted his audience from all corners of the country.  More than one viewer has voiced their commitment to driving hours to meet Marks and take some tractor knowledge home, Marks noted.

“I even talked to a guy in Kansas who was trying to decide if he was going to make the trip … we’re stunned at this,” Marks said.

At the event, Marks will be hosting a clinic providing hands-on education on tractor care, organization and purchasing. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Marks is ecstatic to interact with the Longmont community, he noted.

“It’s just fun to be a part of Colorado. It’s really nice to get to know the folks and the environment there … It’s good stuff,” Marks said.
