A man was found dead in a stolen car early Wednesday morning in Longmont, more than an hour after police responded to reports of a possible shooting.

Around 4:15 a.m. on June 3, Longmont police officers were called to the scene of a possible shooting in the 1200 block of Hunter Court. The victims and the suspects fled the scene in separate vehicles, police stated.

An hour and a half later, a stolen car was found abandoned in front of a home on Valentine Lane. A 34-year-old male was found dead inside the car. The driver of the vehicle fled and has since been identified, according to police.

The home on Valentine Lane was not connected with the incident or any of the parties involved.

Police continue to seek for more information on the two suspects last seen driving a vehicle described as a white, older model, Ford Ranger or Mazda-style 4x4 pickup with an extended cab.

The Longmont Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying the suspects. Information can be reported to Detective Matthew Cage at 303-651-8520.
