Boulder County Sheriff's Office reports on structure fire

The cause of the fire was unknown and is still an active investigation

On Aug. 3, 2023, at about 9:03 p.m., a structure fire was reported in the 7400 Block of Nelson Road, Boulder County, CO. The property and several buildings are used by Boulder County Parks and Open Space. A large metal structure was fully engulfed when deputies arrived on scene. The structure houses UTVs, bicycles, etc. which sustained damage to about 75% of the structure and all contents are suspected to be a total loss. There were no injuries to people or livestock and no concerns for the safety of the public. The cause of the fire was unknown and is still an active investigation.

Agencies that assisted and responded to the scene were Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Hygiene Fire Protection District, Longmont Fire Department, Lyons Fire Protection District, Mountain View Fire Protection District, and Boulder Rural Fire Rescue.

The associated Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case number was 23-04214.
