About Workforce Development Board:
The Boulder County Workforce Development Board is a group of community leaders (appointed by the Boulder County commissioners and certified by the governor) responsible for identifying regional workforce development needs and creating a comprehensive strategy for meeting them, while taking into account economic development priorities. Board members represent private sector employers, education, economic development organizations, government, and community-based organizations.
Mission: To provide oversight and guidance for a simple and seamless system of quality workforce development programs.
Vision: To ensure that the Boulder County workforce is prepared to meet the needs of Boulder County employers; thereby providing a community in which all citizens have the opportunity for gainful employment.
Our board goals include:
- Strengthen partnerships to address individual and community level issues impacting economic mobility.
- Increase the impact of Workforce Boulder County by attracting and supporting more individuals and businesses to utilize the available resources.
- Align local policies and resources to support access to opportunities for quality, life-long education connected to the future of work.
Members of the Boulder County Workforce Development Board:
- Represent industry workforce needs
- Assist in identifying the needs of business in Boulder County
- Work on local grant projects addressing workforce development
- Integrate into workforce initiatives across the metro region
- Plan, support or sponsor local business forums
- Network with business and community leaders
- Participate in youth/young adult focused programs
