Four City Buildings Open Monday
On Monday, June 1, the City of Longmont reopened the Civic Center (350 Kimbark Street), the Development Services Center (385 Kimbark St.), the Service Center (1100 S. Sherman St.) and Municipal Court (225 Kimbark St.) for limited service. Visitors should wear a face covering when in buildings and maintain a physical distance of at least six feet from others. Please limit group size to the greatest extent possible.
If you can conduct your business online or by telephone, please continue to do so. In addition, the Longmont Public Library is offering curbside service. Public Can Call In to City Council Meetings
You can add your voice to the conversation by using your phone during Longmont City Council meetings every Tuesday at 7 p.m. Council meetings currently are being held online, and you can watch live on the City of Longmont YouTube channel, at LongmontPublicMedia.org, or on Comcast Xfinity channel 8 or 880 in high definition.
During the meeting the mayor announces that public comment is open and a phone number is displayed on the screen. That’s your cue to call in. When you address the council you must provide your name and address, and comments are limited to three minutes. Longmont Prepared to Help Restaurants to Reopen Under Pandemic Guidelines
The City of Longmont and its economic development partners have developed an expedited process for reopening local restaurants that need to expand their physical footprint to accommodate physical distancing based on new health and safety guidelines released by Governor Jared Polis.
According to the revised state regulations, restaurants will be allowed to open for on-premises consumption of food and alcohol beverages and to provide outdoor seating areas to promote physical distancing. Restaurant owners who want to expand their footprint to the sidewalks, alleys or parking lots can start the process by completing a short form located on the City’s website. Volunteer Opportunities Available
The City of Longmont’s Parks, Open Space and Trails (POST) division has volunteer opportunities and an educational series on the horizon. Volunteers currently are needed to help with the Memorial Rose Garden at Roosevelt Park. Other programs are not far behind, and volunteers can put their names on the wait list for 2021 bird breeding and raptor opportunities. Those interested in the educational series can learn about botany, pollinators, wildlife, xeriscaping and more. Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Take your boxed or bagged documents to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, June 6, to safely and securely recycle your private documents. This is for residential documents only; no business materials will be accepted. Also take identification and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. 40th Anniversary of Tree City USA for Longmont
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Longmont’s designation as a Tree City USA. During that time, the residents of Longmont have supported the growth and maintenance of our urban forest. The urban forest helps to clean the air we breathe, shade the homes we live in, reduce our energy bills for cooling, and helps define Longmont as a home.

Transfort FLEX Resumes Normal Service on June 1
