NEWS RELEASE
COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF REGULATORY AGENCIES
*************************
The Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is seeking comments on proposed uses of $1.6 million in funds remaining from a retired enforcement mechanism. The mechanism, known as the Colorado Performance Assurance Plan, was retired in 2022, leaving a sum of funds available for distribution. Under the requirements of the mechanism, the Commission must distribute the remaining funds for “competitively neutral efforts in the telecommunications field that do not benefit CenturyLink QC directly.”
The Commission initially opened a proceeding to solicit comments on potential uses of these funds on May 5, 2023. After receiving an initial round of comments, the Commission issued an Interim Decision on Aug. 9, 2023, revising its proposed list of projects and requesting additional proposals or revised proposals from the initial round of comments.
Comments due in this round of public input are due by Sept. 8, 2023, with responsive comments due by Sept. 22, 2023. Comments may be submitted through the Commission’s online comment form, by email at [email protected], or verbally by leaving a message at (303) 869-3490. All comments should reference Proceeding No. 23M-0210T.
