Construction impacts for the week of Nov. 12, 2023
Berthoud to Johnstown
Sunday through Saturday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., there will be various single lane closures and on- and off-ramp closures on northbound and southbound I-25 between Colorado Highway 56 and Colorado Highway 402 while crews move barrier, apply pavement markings and install sign structures.
Lane closures for the week of November 12:
- Sunday through Saturday: Various overnight northbound and southbound I-25 single lane closures and on- and off-ramp closures between CO 56 and CO 402.
Johnstown to Fort Collins
To safely install overhead sign structures above active lanes on I-25, a full closure of southbound I-25 will take place from Crossroads Boulevard to US Highway 34 from:
- 9 p.m., Monday to 5 a.m., Tuesday
Southbound I-25 traffic will exit at Exit 259/Crossroads Boulevard and turn east. Continue to Centerra Parkway and turn south. Continue to US 34 and turn west to access southbound I-25.
To install a new overhead electronic messaging sign above the active lanes of I-25, full closures of northbound I-25 from US 34 to Crossroads Boulevard will take place from:
- 9 p.m., Tuesday to 5 a.m., Wednesday
- 9 p.m., Wednesday to 5 a.m., Thursday
- 9 p.m., Thursday to 5 a.m., Friday
Northbound I-25 traffic will exit at Exit 257/US 34 and turn east. Continue to Centerra Parkway and turn north. Continue to Crossroads Boulevard and turn west to access northbound I-25.
Roadway finishing work requires nightly I-25 ramp closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. next week.
Full closure of the southbound I-25 off-ramp to Colorado Highway 392 will take place from:
- 9 p.m., Monday to 5 a.m., Tuesday
Southbound I-25 off-ramp traffic will continue south on I-25 to Exit 259/Crossroads Boulevard, turn east, and continue onto northbound I-25. Continue north on I-25 to Exit 262/CO 392.
Full closure of the southbound I-25 off-ramp to Colorado Highway 402 will take place from:
- 9 p.m., Wednesday to 5 a.m., Thursday
Southbound I-25 off-ramp traffic will continue south on I-25 to Exit 252/US Highway 60, turn east and continue onto the northbound I-25 on-ramp. Continue north on I-25 to Exit 255/ CO 402.
Full closure of the northbound I-25 off-ramp to CO 392 will take place from:
- 9 p.m., Thursday to 5 a.m., Friday
Northbound I-25 off-ramp traffic will continue north on I-25 to Exit 265/Harmony Road and turn left. Continue back onto southbound I-25 to Exit 262/CO 392.
Full closures of the southbound I-25 off- and on-ramp at CO 392 will take place from:
- 9 p.m., Friday to 5 a.m., Saturday
Southbound I-25 on-ramp traffic will go north on I-25 to Exit 268/ Prospect Road and turn left. Continue west to the southbound I-25 on-ramp.
Southbound I-25 off-ramp traffic will go south on I-25 to Exit 262/CO 392 and turn left. Continue back onto northbound I-25 to Exit 265/Harmony Road.
Single lane closures on I-25 between CO 402 and Prospect Road will take place nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Friday.
Firestone Mobility Hub
Daytime work, Monday - Saturday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Northbound I-25
- There is a new traffic shift into the median, with three lanes of traffic remaining open.
Southbound I-25
- Construction crews will be working on the left shoulder behind the barrier.
- Traffic Shift - Three lanes remain open with a shift to the right.
The speed limit for southbound and northbound I-25 is 55 MPH through the active work zone.
East I-25 Frontage Road
- Construction crews will be working on the shoulder.
- Flaggers may be in place to guide motorists and trucks into and out of the work zone.
West I-25 Frontage Road
- Construction crews will be working on the left shoulder behind the barrier on the left lane and shoulder.
- One lane of through traffic. Access to southbound I-25 is open.

Construction activities are weather-dependent and subject to change. Please watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting mainline I-25 and obey all posted signage in construction zones. Your safety and the safety of our crews is our highest priority.
The I-25 North Express Lanes Project provides a Courtesy Patrol during commute hours (6 to 9 a.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.) to assist with disabled vehicles within the Project limits from Johnstown to Fort Collins.
About the Project
Communities along the I-25 North corridor are expanding rapidly, contributing to major economic growth in northern Colorado. The Colorado Department of Transportation is supporting this growth by delivering the expansion of I-25 North. Improvements are currently underway along I-25 between Berthoud and Fort Collins (with more to come from Mead to Berthoud).
This project brings economic, environmental and quality of life benefits for northern Coloradans by:
- Making safety improvements to reduce the number of crashes and fatalities.
- Decreasing travel time and increasing trip reliability.
- Reducing emissions and improving freight efficiency.
- Improve congestion and safety.
- Rebuilding aging and obsolete infrastructure.
- Improving bicycle, pedestrian and transit connectivity.
