Discovery Days includes fruits and veggies

Discovery Days at the Longmont Museum is an early childhood program that encourages children ages 2 to 6 and their parents or caregivers to engage together in educational, hands-on art activities.

Discovery Days Spring semester schedule (January - May, 2022) is coming soon.

Each week, Ms. Leigh prepares a variety of themed arts and crafts activities for you and your child to explore materials and creation techniques.

Next week, November 10, 11, & 12 we will:

• Increase hand eye coordination by sponge stamping a grape shape
• Practice pencil grip by drawing lines with markers
• Work on our cutting skills by cutting tissue paper
• Increase hand strength by using shape punch machines
• Practice pinching and placing pieces

Sensory experiences you may encounter:

• Sticky glue on fingers
• Sticky tape on fingers
• Soft feathers
• Soft & squeaky cotton balls
• Wet paint
• Wearing an apron to keep clean while painting
• Wearing a face covering/mask in the classroom
• And as always, you can expect variety of noises and voices in the classroom: some joyful, some loud, some quiet, and some just learning how to navigate this world.
