Starting Monday, Sept. 25, drop by any service point at the Longmont Library (409 Fourth Ave., Longmont, Colorado 80501) to get your free solar eclipse glasses for the upcoming annular solar eclipse on Oct. 14.
The visibility from Longmont will be about 77% coverage of the sun from 9:14 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. Be sure to save your glasses for another eclipse coming up on April 8, 2024! Glasses are while supplies last and are courtesy of the STAR Net Community program through the Space Science Institute.
Attend Eclipse Events
- Oct. 10: Solar Explorers: Getting Ready for the Eclipse
- Participants will learn how to safely view the annular solar eclipse, why these eclipses happen, and all participants can decorate their own eclipse glasses.
- Oct. 13: Solar Eclipse Crafternoon Take & Make Kit: Straw Rocket
- Come to the Children and Teen Services area and get a Take and Make kit that includes all the materials needed to make your very own rocket!
