Local girl rescued in St. Vrain Creek

On Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 11:48 a.m., the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of a person stranded on a rock in the middle of St. Vrain Creek.

A 16-year-old female from Lafayette, Col. was able to climb onto a rock after falling from an inner tube. Members of Lyons Fire Protection District and Hygiene Fire Protection District performed a boat rescue.

AMR ambulance transported the female to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The rescue lasted approximately one hour.

Agencies assisting with this rescue included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, American Medical Response (AMR), Lyons Fire Protection District, Hygiene Fire Protection District and Boulder Emergency Squad.
