The theme at the Longmont Museum's Discovery Days for the week of April 11 to 14 is the zoo. 

About Discovery Days

• For ages two to six with an adult
• $4 for each child ages two and up per member
• $4.50 per non-member
• Attend a session that fits your schedule — no registration needed
• Tuesdays: Music and movement
• Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: Art

Discovery Days Music and Movement

• Tuesdays; Classroom C
• January 17 to May 2
• 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m.; 45 min–1 hour per session

Children and their parents and caregivers can enjoy moving to music together. Ms. Emma or Ms. Cora from Integral Steps play music, play instruments like the flute, lead dancing and wiggling, and lead sing-a-longs. Additional instructors such as Kristin Kingsley from Longmont Dance Theatre Academy also will be able to join us and lead the children in dance and song.

This class contains primarily direct instruction, so you will have the best experience if you arrive for the beginning of the class start time, so that you and your child can participate along with the instructor's direction. 

Discovery Days Art with Ms. Leigh

• Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays; Classroom AB
• January 18 to May 5
• 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m.; 1 hour 15 minutes per session

This class is self-directed exploration in an art classroom space. Ms. Leigh provides guidance to children and families, assists with one-on-one skill acquisition, and plays with the children to help them learn and grow. This class allows for late arrival, but there is an attendance maximum for each session.

Discovery Days scholarships‌

Scholarships are available for Discovery Days thanks to support from the Dodge Family Fund and the Stewart Family Foundation.

Each child who is awarded a scholarship will receive a free 10-pass punch card to be used in Discovery Days classes. Scholarship punch cards can be issued digitally and can be renewed.

Big Kid Days

• For children up to age 11 on late start or no school days in the SVVSD
• Regular fees apply
• Late Start: Wednesdays, February 1, March 1, April 5, and May 3, 9 a.m.
• No School: Fridays, February 17 and April 28, all sessions
• Fees per child: $4 member, $4.50 nonmember
• 10-pack punch card: $35 member, $40 nonmember
