BOULDER COUNTY RESOURCE CONSERVATION

Boulder County Public Works’ Resource Conservation Division (RCD) invites everyone to play HazMat Madness this March and you might win a $20 King Soopers gift card for choosing what material is dropped off the most at our Hazardous Materials Management Facility (HMMF).

Complete and return a bracket by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 4 to be entered into the contest. Download a bracket and read the complete rules at www.boco.org/hmmf.

Completed brackets should be emailed to [email protected]. One bracket per person. Good luck!  

HazMat March Madness Rules and Fine Print

  1. Download the Bracket
  2. Fill it out completely from week 1 through the final week (don’t forget your email at the bottom)
    • For each material faceoff, choose the material you think will show up at the HMMF the most that week
      • Example – Aerosols vs. Batteries in Week 1 – If you think the HMMF will get more batteries than aerosols that week, write “batteries” in the week 2 spot
  3. Email your completed bracket to [email protected] by Monday, March 4
  4. Each week, HMMF staff will take count of the materials brought to the facility
  5. Every Monday, the advancing/winning materials will be announced on Resource Conservation’s Instagram and Facebook accounts
  6. The Final Week will end on Saturday, March 30
  7. Winners will be announced on Monday, April 1
  8. Winning players will be the people with the most points overall using this scoring system:
    • Correct 1st round selection = 1 point each
    • Correct 2nd round selection = 2 points each
    • Correct 3rd round selection = 4 points each
    • Correct final selection = 8 points
  9. Winners will receive a $20 gift card to King Soopers.
