Sheriff's office: Grass fire burns 2.5 acres of native grasses on Nelson Road

Firefighters from Lefthand Fire and Hygiene Fire responded to the scene and were quickly able to contain the spread

On Aug. 10 at 1 a.m. Boulder County Dispatch received a report of a small grass fire in the area of 3500 Nelson Road in unincorporated Boulder County.  A deputy was dispatched to the area and was able to confirm the presence of a fire from a substantial distance away.  Firefighters from Lefthand Fire and Hygiene Fire responded to the scene and were quickly able to contain the spread.  The fire was completely extinguished in two hours and is estimated to have burned 2.5 acres of native grass.  No structures were threatened and no immediate cause of the fire has been identified. 

The investigation is documented on Boulder County case number 20-3513.
