Happiness Hoedown fundraiser at Ellis Ranch on April 29

Radio personality and mayor of Johnstown, Scott James will be the host at the annual fundraiser for Happiness Through Horses which supports and empowers the vulnerable youth in our northern Front Range community.

Radio personality and mayor of Johnstown, Scott James will be the host at the annual fundraiser for Happiness Through Horses which supports and empowers the vulnerable youth in our northern Front Range community. He has received numerous awards from his peers and currently is the co-host of Scott and Sadie in the Morning on iHeart’s Big Country 97.9 which is a sponsor of the event.

The Happiness Hoedown take place from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and will feature traditional BBQ, dancing to South To Cedars, hay rides, corn hole, chicken poop bingo, a photo booth area , face painting and more! There will also be a Silent Auction with opportunities to bid on some unique items while helping our youth.

Proceeds benefit Happiness Through Horses, a 501c3 that provides scholarships to vulnerable youth for different kinds of equine therapy – increasing their self-esteem, communication and leadership skills, and building a safe community for them to grow and thrive.

The goal of Happiness Through Horses is to ensure that youth who can benefit from equine therapy receive services through one of our partner programs.

“Having been a teen who grew up looking for love in the wrong places and going down the wrong path, I know firsthand how hard having lack of direction and mentorship can make growing up” says co-founder Kim Swaney. “This is one of the reasons I work so hard and want to be here for the kids in our communities”.

Founded in 2013, Happiness Through Horses is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides scholarships for vulnerable youth in the community to participate in equine programs at our locations and partnering facilities in the northern Front Range of Colorado.

Our Mission is to heal the hearts of struggling youth through bonding with horses.
