Boulder County Parks & Open Space is looking for Educator Volunteers to lead educational, fun programs at the recently restored one-room Altona Schoolhouse at Heil Valley Ranch.

Applicants do not need to be teachers to apply. This is a great opportunity for those enjoy local history and are comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences .

Volunteers will:

  • Present one-room schoolhouse field trips for group visits. Teachers will choose from a pioneer school experience or a World War II school experience.
  • Present artifact trunks for group visits.
  • Research, develop, and present future field trip or public program activities.
  • Research and lead period-appropriate crafts, games, and possibly songs.

The deadline for applications is Monday, July 8. Minimum age is 14.
