Boulder County Parks & Open Space is looking for Educator Volunteers to lead educational, fun programs at the recently restored one-room Altona Schoolhouse at Heil Valley Ranch.
Applicants do not need to be teachers to apply. This is a great opportunity for those enjoy local history and are comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences .
Volunteers will:
- Present one-room schoolhouse field trips for group visits. Teachers will choose from a pioneer school experience or a World War II school experience.
- Present artifact trunks for group visits.
- Research, develop, and present future field trip or public program activities.
- Research and lead period-appropriate crafts, games, and possibly songs.
The deadline for applications is Monday, July 8. Minimum age is 14.
