JUNE 7, 1993 – NOVEMBER 3, 2020

Ahna Maria Mack passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in Fort Collins, CO; fracturing the hearts of all those who loved her. She was just 27 years old.

On June 7, 1993, Masha Mikhailovna Doroshkevich was born in Kargopol, Russia. Eighteen months later, Charlie and Arleen Mack travelled halfway around the world and brought her home to be their daughter and named her Ahna Maria Mack. Ahna was a delight to her family particularly her grandparents. She took only about one month to acclimate and speak English as well as any other American two-year-old. She attended preschool through third grade at St. John’s and then Longmont Estates Elementary and Westview. As a child Ahna loved acting and singing. During her middle school years, she advanced her singing ability and sang wherever she could and it brought her great joy. She was homeschooled for seventh and eighth grade and graduated from Holy Family High School class of 2013. In high school she was in concert choir all four years and sophomore year was actress of the year. She was accepted into the music program at University of Northern Colorado and completed freshman year.

Ahna suffered with cerebral palsy and had extensive leg surgeries which left her with great pain. Her life was filled with many ups and downs. She courageously fought the obstacles in her life, sometimes with success. She had such a great compassion for those less fortunate and would give her last nickel to a homeless person on the street only after she let them know that God loved them. Ahna had a specialness about her that drew people to her and so many tried to help her along her difficult journey. Some of her best success came from the Adult and Teen Challenge Program in San Antonio. They helped her come closer to Jesus and that as well as her Catholic faith always gave her comfort. On November 3 her journey took her to the arms of Jesus. She is finally at peace.

Ahna is preceeded in death by her Grandpa Frank and Grandma Tillie Mack and Grandpa Elmer Haselhorst. She is survived by her Mom and Dad, brothers Justin, Josef (Caroline) and nieces Lucy, Elliana and Molly Mack and nephews Jonah and Mason Mack, her dear Grandma Josephine Haselhorst and Uncles and Aunts, Ed and Jo Mack, Judy and Dave Christmas. Alan and Monika Haselhorst.

There will be a private funeral mass November 11, 2020 and she will be laid to rest with her Grandpa Elmer at Foothills Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Adult and Teen Challenge of Texas, 3850 S. Loop 1604W, San Antonio,Texas 78264
