Anne E. Trupkiewicz

Posted

Anne E. Trupkiewicz, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away quietly on March 16, 2021, at the age of 86. Anne was born on February 27, 1935, in Bayonne, N.J. in a blizzard (and she left in a blizzard!) The seventh of nine children born of Polish immigrants, Anne was intensely proud of her Polish heritage (and of course, Polish food!) She studied nursing at the Jersey City Medical Center in New Jersey, and worked for many years as a surgical nurse and private duty nurse.

She met and married John F. Trupkiewicz, from Jersey City, in 1957 (even though he couldn't dance). They moved to East Brunswick, N.J. where they lived for 17 years, and raised their children -- Anne Marie, John G., and William (Bill) G. Trupkiewicz.

In 1980, Anne and John moved to Loveland, Colorado, as their children were attending universities there. Anne continued working as a nurse in local hospitals, and worked as a medical transcriptionist after retiring from nursing. She enjoyed flea markets, garage sales, and buying and selling books and collectibles on eBay.

She spent the last 5 years at Good Samaritan Village in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she kept the staff entertained by teaching them Polish vocabulary and swear words, and telling humorous nursing stories. She would tell them, "You need some stubborness to get through the challenges, but also to see the good -- to enjoy every age that you're at."

She is survived by daughter Anne Marie Trupkiewicz (Constance); son John Trupkiewicz (Mary); and daughter-in-law Kelly Trupkiewicz; and grandchildren Eleanor, Joseph, Kate Adams (Zach), Margaret, Alexandra, and William Joshua. She was preceded in death by her husband John F., son William, parents Eleanor and Adalber (George), and all of her brothers and sisters.

Services were held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Good Samaritan Society Fort Collins Village, or the Larimer County Humane Society.
