June 27, 1932 - July 11, 2022
Barbara Dolores Jenkins, age 90, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away on July 11, 2022, at her home surrounded by loving family. She was born in Massillon, Ohio, on June 27, 1932, to the late William A. and Margaret A. Maier. She graduated from Mount Marie Academy in Canton, Ohio.
She married Donald G. Jenkins and shared almost 50 years until his unexpected passing in 2001. Together they had nine children who were, as she recently expressed, “her pride and joy.” Her dedication and love for them and their families is her living legacy.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Barbara’s Catholic faith was paramount to her daily life providing her comfort and guidance every step of the way. Over the years she volunteered at Church in various capacities as Eucharistic Ministry to the homebound, laundering altar linens and providing food for funeral dinners. She volunteered at House of Neighborly Services and Catholic Radio and was also an active participant of the Berthoud Rosary Group and committed to weekly adoration. Barbara was a true Prayer Warrior.
She enjoyed playing a variety of card games with family and friends who knew to be on guard as she would likely figure out a way to win – always with much fun and laughter.
Family gatherings and visits from any of her 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren added much joy to her life. Each addition to her ever growing family was a blessing to her.
Barbara is survived by her children and their spouses - Diane Dynes, Jan Babcock, Don Jenkins, Sue Junge, Mary Anderson, Barb Jenkins, Daniel Jenkins, Julia Jenkins and Laura Baker, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 6 siblings.
A Celebration of Life and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 19, 2022, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland, Colorado.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m.
Inurnment will be privately held after the reception.
