Barbara Jean Thuis, aged 63, passed away on Friday, August 27th, 2021. Barb was born on February 19, 1958 in Omaha, NE. Happily married to Tom for 40 years, she was the loving mother to daughters Michelle, Alicia, and Briana, and a proud grandmother to four grandchildren.
Barb was a graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver, and was a special education teacher for many years after having home schooled her children through 8th grade. Recently retired, she loved caring for her family and grandchildren, gardening, traveling, word games, attending church, singing, and caring for her three dogs.
Barb was preceded in death by her father, Warren Gould, and her mother, Catharine Gould. She is survived by her husband Tom Thuis, her three daughters, Michelle Thuis, Alicia Gettis, and Briana Thuis, and her four beautiful grandchildren. She is also survived by six siblings, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 9th at Rundus Funeral Home (1998 W. 10th Ave. Broomfield, CO 80020) from 5-7pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 10th at North Metro Church (12505 Colorado Blvd, Thornton, CO 80241) at 10:00am. Graveside service at Broomfield County Commons Cemetery (12801 Sheridan Blvd. Broomfield, CO 80020) will follow immediately after, with reception to be held at Northmoor Park (13 Avenue and Birch Street, Broomfield, CO 80020) from 12:00-3:00pm.
