1931 - 2022

Beverly J. “Bev” Schubert, 91, of Ellicott, CO, was called home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2022, in Colorado Springs, CO.

Beverly was born January 1, 1931, to Herman and Alice Bresser of Peyton, CO. She had two younger siblings, Henry Bresser and Donna Jo (Bresser) Baker. Beverly discovered her love of sports during her years at Ellicott High School, where she played basketball outside on a dirt court. On November 21, 1948, Beverly married Theodore “Ted” R. Schubert, just short time before her 18th birthday. A lifelong farmer and rancher, she raised her family, worked, and lived on her beloved farm for seven decades (minus a short move to farm in Missouri from 1951-1953). While raising her five children, she spent countless hours feeding animals, milking and calving cows, and helping run a successful business.

Beverly also spent many years serving her community as an election judge. From participating in bowling leagues to watching sports in person and on television, Beverly’s passion for sports was lifelong. She even became an avid auto racing fan later in life and was known by many at the racetrack as “Grandma.” Beverly loved to travel and took many trips her favorite place – Hawaii. Beverly had a giving heart and always wanted to help those around her. She never met a stranger as she could strike up a conversation with anyone. It was through these seemingly small conversations that Beverly met and made many life-long friends, both near and far. She loved big and was loved by many. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and daughter, Susan Brownewell. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen (Lamar) Bennett of Coeur D'alene, ID; son, George (Debra) Schubert of Ellicott, CO; daughter, Julie (fiancé Steve Mason) Pasquin of Newport News, VA; and daughter, Jayne (David) Brent of Colorado Springs, CO. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren with another one due April 2022.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to one of the charities close to Beverly’s heart - Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the Calhan Memorial Cemetery, Hahn Road, Calhan, CO. All are welcome.
