December 4, 1946  -  December 7, 2023

Carol Mae McCormick, 77, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away on December 7, 2023, and her spirit is free to roam endless realms that brought her curiosity and amazement.

Carol was born on December 4,1946, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the daughter of fortunate parents Fernandina M. and Theodore F. Koschmider. Carol graduated from Willow Run High School in  1965, and married her best friend, Alan McCormick, on September 18, 1965, whom she had known since the eighth grade. Together they raised three children: Kelle Vaughn, Tim McCormick, and Matt McCormick.

Carol earned a bachelor's degree, electronic engineering and worked challenging positions at several hi-tech companies in the Denver metro area. She became a master gardener and enjoyed helping people by volunteering her time with Colorado State University and The Denver Botanic Gardens. She loved fishing with her family in the upper peninsula of Michigan, traveling to enjoy destinations such as national parks, hiking in the mountains, and visiting Hawaii where she walked Volcanoes National Park.

Carol had a passion for community and country, she had an uncanny green thumb, and her keen mind enabled her to solve an array of puzzles and mysteries. Carol also had a kind heart and found many ways to contribute personally to her family and donate to many causes she cherished. She will be missed for her quick wit and sense of humor, her spirited character, and her unwavering kindness to those in need.

She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore, who taught her the value of having the proper tool for the job, her brothers Gary, Dale and Allen, and her son-in -law, Greg Vaughn. Carol is survived by her husband, of 58 years, Alan, their three children, Kelle, Matt and Tim, and her mother, Fern, who will soon turn 100. She also leaves behind two sister-in-laws, a niece, a nephew, a grandson, and many other family members.

Carol's celebration of life will take place January 9, 2024 at 2pm at Rundus Funeral Home, 1998 W. 10th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80020
