April 17, 1977 ~ August 11, 2021 (age 44)

Corinna Booker, 44, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly in the evening on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021.

April 17th, 1977, as Corinna Marie Euresti, she was born a fighter at 3 pounds 3 ounces to Carla Morales and John Mares in Denver, Colorado.  She came into this world 2 ½ months early and had everyone wrapped around their finger from day one.  Dancing and singing always, she grew up with her mother and sister and they were a tight knit family in Longmont, Colorado.  While in high school she was given the title of Auntie from her first love; nephew Jonyae.  She helped care for him and they had an adoring relationship.  Moving to Thornton during senior year, she graduated from Skyview High School.  Cori had a strong passion for writing. She attended Metro State University and was ‘A Student to Watch’ in Journalism.

July 4th, 2000, she married the love of her life Niko.  They were a match made in heaven and loved each other with every ounce of their being.  Niko cherished every breathe Corinna had and they were the best of friends.

Ten years after the first time, she was an auntie again.  She and her niece Jiovana were the silliest of friends.  Corinna was always laughing, joking and happy through her life and her niece and nephew were better for it.  They were her world.

Corinna was born with epilepsy and cerebral palsy, and later in life developed spinal stenosis.  She was the favored Customer Services Rep at King Soopers in Aurora for her last 7 years.  There was not a person she would not talk to and made each, and every, one feel valued and seen.  Her work family took very special care of her and would always carry her cash drawer when she was bound to a cane the last couple of years.  She constantly spoke of how amazing her co-workers were and loved them all.

Corinna was the kindest person you could know.  She was born forgiving and carried strong empathy for everyone.  Her final act of kindness was to donate to Donor Alliance Organ and Tissue Donation.  She was able to give Upper Body Bone/Lower Body Bone/Soft Tissue: This gift is used to help repair or replace damaged tissue or joints and will help those that have bone cancer and ligament tears avoid amputation.  Also, Skin Grafts: This gift is used to help burn victims and those that have had mastectomies fight infection during their recovery.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Lilian Flora Booker, her mother-in-law, Heromine Toni Booker, maternal grandparents Flora Sanchez Morales and Carl Crenshaw, paternal grandparents Cora Moya and Sgt. Reuben Mares, uncles Frank Morales, Dale Mares and Carlos “Chuck” Perea and aunt Terry Lee Crenshaw.

Left to cherish her memory are her revered husband Niko D Booker, mother, and best friend, Carla Morales-Bastian and papi Earl Bastian, father John Mares, sisters Angela Euresti and Brieanna Mares Harlow, brothers Joshua Trujillo, Angelo Vallejo, and Dylan and Dustin Mares, prized nephew Jonyae Euresti, nephews Angelo and Zayvier Vallejo, and Matthew and Miles Harlow, admired niece Jiovana Euresti DeBaise, father-in-law Calvin Booker Sr, brothers-in-law Trevis and Calvin Booker Jr, and an extremely large amount of aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers and friends.

There will be a Memorial Service Thursday, August 19th at 2pm at Carroll-Lewellen.  We will follow with a luncheon at Izaac Walton Clubhouse immediately after the service.  Corinna’s family is immunocompromised, so we asked everyone not vaccinated please wear a mask and save hugs.  We are amazed and overwhelmed with all the love and support and we thank you.  The family asks if you felt the need to give flowers, please consider planting a tree in her name.  She would love to continue to live on for several generations.
