Daniel Joseph Lynch, 79, of Lakewood. Colo. died suddenly of Acute Myeloid Leukemia on May 3, 2021, following a brief illness.

A memorial service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 11, at 1:15 p.m. in Staging Area C. Dan was born in Kansas City, Mo., on April 9, 1942, to Emmet (Joe) Lynch and Roslyn (nee Willenborg). As a teenager, the family moved to Berkeley, Calif., where he graduated from St. Mary's High School and then San Francisco State University with a degree in radio and television.

After college Dan joined the US Air Force where he served in Strategic Air Command in Omaha, Neb., he did a tour of duty at Tan Son Nhut Air Base in South Vietnam. He was later honorably discharged from the Air Force Reserve as a captain. While in training at Lowry Air Force Base, he met Lois Knutson. They wedded in September 1968 and were married 52 years at the time of his death. Dan and Lois had two children, a son Cameron and daughter Stacy. Upon leaving the Air Force, Dan and Lois moved to Lakewood, Colo.

Dan was the owner of Market Data, Inc. and later J & L Properties apartment management company. He is survived by wife Lois, son Cameron of Lakewood, Colo. and daughter Stacy (Roger) of Atlanta, Ga., grandchildren Isabel and Emerson Slavens of Atlanta, Ga., brother Emmett of Richmond, Calif., and sister AJ LoScalzo of Prairie Village, Kan. Dan was an active member of many civic organizations in the area and served on the board of the Friends of Fort Logan, was president of the Colorado Classic Car Club, treasurer of the Denver Press Club and marshall of the Denver St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee. He was also a member of the Triumph Car Club, the Lincoln Club, American Legion Post 1, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Old Goats, Central City Press Club, Optimists International, Colorado Republican Business Coalition, Denver Jazz Club, Buick Club, and the Lakewood Historical Society.
