December 9, 1936 - May 20, 2023

David Roger Larsen, 86, of Denver, passed away of natural causes on May 20, 2023, in Westminster, Colorado. David was born on December 9, 1936, in Richfield, Utah, to Enoch Larsen and Mabel Christiansen. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Miriam Olcott, Genevieve Dennison, Ruth Craw and Carol Gulbransen, and brothers Harold, Lamont, Don, Reed and Roland.

David was a creative and artistic person who had a great love for animals. He took great satisfaction in the companionship of the many cats he had throughout his life as well as the pets of family and friends. Each year his beautifully decorated Christmas tree was a delight to behold.

David graduated from Richfield High School in 1955, after which he served for two years in the Northern States Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon returning, he enrolled at Brigham Young University where he studied Art and enthusiastically participated in planning and organizing student body social activities.

David lived and worked briefly in Idaho and California before concluding that Denver was the place for him, moving there in the mid 1960’s. After arriving in Denver he worked primarily in retail and wedding photography, where his artistic abilities served him well. He loved Colorado’s magnificent mountains and spent many happy times there, camping and recreating with friends over a period of several decades.
