July 31, 1937 - January 3, 2024
Donald “Don” Duane Rontti of Loveland Colorado entered eternal rest on the morning of January 3rd 2024. He was 86 years old and born July 31 1937 in Esko Minnesota. He will be missed by his brother Harv Rontti of Duluth MN, son Steve (Pam) Rontti of Delphos KS, and daughters Sandra (Kurt) Spence and Sarah (Martin) Stefanak of Loveland CO, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and countless family and friends. He was greeted in heaven by his parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, wife, 1 son, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
After high school he served 4 years in the United States Airforce as a jet engine mechanic. He then attended trade school for auto body repair which was his career for 40 + years. He and Dorothy met and were married in St Louis Park, MN on April 24, 1965. They moved to Colorado in 1974 and were married for 51 years.
He enjoyed trains, working on classic cars and trucks, going to car shows and spending time with family and friends. He was steadfast in his faith and served MVP Church by ushering for many years. He served the community by building with Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at Loveland Community Kitchen and also driving for Saints.
Don was a loving husband, caring father, humble friend who offered kind words and a sense of humor with a warm smile.
A celebration of life will take place on Monday, January 15th ,2024, at 11 am at Mountain View Presbyterian Church. A light luncheon will be provided after the service.
