Donetta “Kay” (Stotts) Brunmeier of Loveland received her angel wings on June 30, 2021 at her home with her beloved son Wayne, by her side.
She was born on August 20, 1941 in Berthoud, CO to James and Helen (Paris) Stotts and grew up in Mead on a farm with her three brothers: Richard, Robert and James, all now deceased. After moving to Loveland as a teenager, she met Calvin Brunmeier and they were married on May 11, 1958. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2011. They had 2 children; Alvin “Wayne” Brunmeier and Marla Marie (Brunmeier) Schwab, who passed away on April 11, 2003.
For many years, Kay worked for Hewlett-Packard in Loveland and then for Comlinear in Ft. Collins.
She had attended Evangelical Covenant Church in Loveland and was a member of the “Red Hat” Society. She enjoyed making crafts, reading and playing cards. Her favorite times were spent with family and friends. She was a very loving, caring, and faithful friend. Kay always had a smile on her face and her laugh was infectious!
In the summer of 2012, Kay was blessed with meeting Dale Horn and her life was filled with music, dancing and even playing her homemade instrument, called “Old Double D” with Dale. They performed together numerous times at various locations for the last several years.
Kay is survived by her son Wayne(Tiffany), Granddaughters; Shanna Peters(Matt), Jennifer Kennedy(Joe), and Ashley Brunmeier(Kyle), Grandsons; Courtney Schwab(Krista), Andrew Withrow and Tyler Schwab(Andrea). She was known as “Mamo” to all of them, as well as to her nine great-grandchildren. She is also had a very special and loving relationship with her several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home in Loveland on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 with viewing at 9:00 a.m. and the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Loveland Burial Park immediately following the service.
