FEBRUARY 22, 1939 – DECEMBER 22, 2020

Donna Rae Simington passed away peacefully at her Longmont, CO home on December 22, 2020. She was 81 years old.

Donna was born in Santa Ana, CA on February 22, 1939 to Darwin George and Josephine (Bunker) Coy. She married the love of her life, James E. Simington, II, when they were still young, and the couple moved to Longmont, CO in 1975. Together, Donna and James brought into the world four wonderful children. James passed away in 2009.

Donna worked for many years for the St. Vrain Valley School District as a Food Service Specialist, retiring in 2016. She was a practicing Catholic and enjoyed attending Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Longmont. Donna was charismatic and had an incredible sense of humor, often sticking her middle finger in the air as a response to most anything. She loved life and did her best to live it to the fullest. Donna enjoyed a great many hobbies including knitting, playing cribbage and gardening. She was a Colorado gal and liked to watch the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies on TV. She also enjoyed bird watching, dancing, listening to country music, and baking. Most of all, Donna loved spending time with her family. She was a loving, caring mother to her children and a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Her passing breaks the hearts of the family she leaves behind.

Donna was loved and she will be missed.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Bill Coy. She is survived by her children, James E. Simington, III, C. Luke Simington (Scott McGlothlen), Colleen Craver (Brett), and Patty Wagner (Chris); her brother, Pat Coy; her grandchildren, Britini Gentry, Logan Wagner, Josie Wagner, Eric Wagner, Kylie Simington, Jessie Simington, and James Simington; and her great-grandson, Jadon Long.

In Donna’s honor, there will be a Rosary at 9:15 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 29th at St Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Longmont. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Donna’s name to St. Judes.
