It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother Doris Elaine Cable. Mom passed away peacefully at the age of 77 surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
This remarkable lady was born in Tampa, Florida on February 5th, 1946. She was the middle child between her older brother Johnny Morris (deceased) and little sister Constance Nelson.
Having grown up in the South, good Southern cooking was both a passion and pursuit for mom. She was an amazing cook and feeding family, friends, and perfect strangers was how she expressed her love.
Mom was a committed Christ-follower and her unwavering faith in Jesus was like a beacon that lit up a room. She regularly attended Foundations Church in Loveland and had a heart for partnering ministries that helped feed the homeless in our community. No one was ever a stranger or went hungry when Doris was around.
Mom worked at Hach Company in Loveland, Colorado for nearly 30 years. There she manned the central phone system and was lovingly known as the “voice of Hach.” At her retirement in 2017, over 100 people were present to wish her well.
Mom’s sweet character, wry sense of humor, and lavish generosity endeared her to so many people. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
We welcome you to join us for her Celebration of Life service on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Foundations Church in Loveland. The service will start at 11 am and a lunch reception will immediately follow.
