Doris Ruth Hanft (Friedrich), 94, Lakewood, Colorado went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
Doris, last daughter of the late Herman and Lydia Friedrich was born February 03, 1928, in Hastings, Nebraska. Doris professed her faith at an early age and lived a life of faith, hope, and love. She lived her Christian faith in everything she accomplished, as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandparent and friend.
She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Adrian Eugene Hanft, Sr, February 15, 1947. This union was blessed with four children. Adrian preceded her in death on October 24, 1984.
She loved helping others. For many years, she lovingly fostered ninety-two children from the Lutheran Family Services until she earned her LPN nursing degree and began her work at Longmont United Hospital. Her entire life was one of creativity seen through her painting, sewing, crafting for her family and friends.
Doris lovingly cared for many children with her daughter at Diane’s Day Care for over twenty years in Diane’s home.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Lydia Friedrich, her husband Adrian E Hanft, Sr, her grandson Chan L Hanft, grandson-in-law Tim Vasquez and her siblings, Alvina, Herman, Melvin, Marian, Kay, and Raymond.
Her life will forever be cherished by her surviving children, Rev Adrian E Hanft, II, (Grace), Kenneth L Hanft (Dow), Stanley R Hanft (Tonya), and Diane Stevenson (Harold) and by her eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
