June 1, 1933 ~ June 16, 2022 (age 89)
Dorothy Gamble went home to the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the age of 89. Dorothy was born on June 1, 1933 near Orrin, ND to Wendelin and Anna Bickler. She married Frances (Spike) Spain in September, 1952. Together they raised six children; Timothy (Liz) Spain, Pam (Mel) Schlaffman, Gail Grefe, Sheila (Greg) Schmit, Craig Spain, and Lyle (Tiffany) Spain. Spike passed away in 1981. She had eleven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy married George Gamble in 1990 and was preceded in death by George in 2001.
Dorothy lived in Rochester, MN with her daughter, Gail, before moving to Brighton, CO to live with her daughter, Sheila. She spent her final years keeping in touch with family and friends. She loved helping in the garden and spent many hours enjoying the Colorado sunshine.
Dorothy is survived by her six children, her brother, George (Jeanette) Bickler, her sister, Milly Bohl, and her sister-in-law, Florence. She has numerous nieces and nephews who have wonderful memories of their Aunt Dorothy. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and four grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 9, 2022 at Sheila and Greg’s home in Brighton, CO.
