Dorothy Mae (Graf) Bush born March 4, 1933 to Alvin and Mary (Meyerdirk) Graf in Worthington, Minnesota. She passed away January 20, 2022 at the age of 88. 

William Alvin Graf and Mary Bernice Meyrdirk were married on September 28, 1932. To this union six children were born: Dorothy Mae, William George, Robert Dean, Bonnie Jean, Sandra Lou, and Ronald Gene. Dorothy was born in the township of Indian Lake, County of Nobles in the state of Minnesota. The Graf family moved to Colorado in 1942 where Dorothy graduated from Yuma Union High School in May, 1951.

Dorothy married David Bush on November 23, 1974. They lived on the family farm for 23 years. Dave and Dorothy expanded their farming operation when they planted 7,000 Christmas trees. They provided transportation for many families to select and cut down the perfect Christmas tree. They also sold decorated evergreen wreaths. Santa Claus entertained the children and there was always plenty of cookies, candy and warm drinks for all. When Dave and Dorothy retired they moved to Wray. They enjoyed the snowbird life and would spend three months of the year in Texas where they met many friends until health complications kept them close to home.

Dorothy joined the Haigler United Methodist Church on August 16, 2015.

Dorothy was proceeded in death by her husband Dave, parents Alvin and Mary Graf, brothers Robert and William Graf, and sister Sandy Muirheid.

She is survived by sister Bonnie Foor of Yuma and brother Ron Graf of Strasburg along with a host of family and friends.

Visitation/viewing will be held at the Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home in Wray, Colorado on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the Haigler United Methodist Church in Haigler, Nebraska on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Fisher officiating. Interment will be held in the Haigler Cemetery in Haigler, Nebraska.

Memorials may be made to the Haigler United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Plains.
