Dorothy Edna (Cleveland) Mein, 94, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away peacefully on September 13, 2021. Born on July 5, 1927 to George and Anna Cleveland in Kimball Nebraska; she was one of eight children. Dorothy graduated from Cache La Poudre High School in LaPorte Colorado in 1945. She worked at the Creamery and Silver Grill after graduating high school. She also worked at the CSU Coffee Shop for 9 ½ years and Woodward Governor for 3 years. She then enjoyed her passion for flowers working at the Plantorium and another local green house before retiring to enjoy gardening, yard work and her greatest passion, fishing. She created many beautiful flower gardens and vegetable gardens and until age 93, continued mowing her entire acre of land with a riding mower. She also enjoyed a variety of crafts and sewing quilts for her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dorothy married the love of her life, Harold Mein on February 26th, 1949. They enjoyed 66 wonderful years of marriage and enjoyed traveling in their motorhome to visit family and friends, and fishing while at the cabin they built together in Red Feather Lakes. Family was very important to her and she was a devoted, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Shirley (Dennis) Bruns of Longmont, Colorado, Robert (Pat) Mein of Loveland, Colorado, Bill Mein of Fort Collins, Colorado and Judy (Kirk) Gilbow of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandchildren, Becky Gonzales WY, Robert Mein TX, Bobbi (Robert) Adams CO, LeAnn (Jeff) Specht CO, Randy Mein CO, Ezra Smith VA, Colleen Seki Japan, Emily CO, Cameron Bruns MA, Tyler Bruns WA; 15 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Neil Smith, Fowler, Colorado, brother-in-law Kenneth (Marie) Mein, Kenmore, WA and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Orlie Cleveland and Dick Cleveland; five sisters, Mable Dinnell, Ellen Sanders, Clara Eby, Mildred Morris and Irene Smith; her husband, Harold Mein; eldest son, James Mein; and brother-in-law, Loyd Mein.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 23rd at Resthaven Funeral home with interment and reception to follow.
