Dorothy (Lisi) Holland, 101, was born December 31, 1920 – (10 minutes to midnight, almost a New Year’s baby) to Maria (Soroco) and Giovanni (John) Lisi in Brooklyn, New York. She passed from this earth early Monday morning, May 16, 2022.  She was the fourth of six children who have all preceded her in death (Teresa Gugnoni (Bill), Mildred Ciruzzi (Ralph), Joseph Lisi, Ann Lisi and Margaret Lisi).

She is survived by her three children, Keith Holland, Chris Holland (Mary Ann) and Milissa Andrews (Bill), four grandchildren Amanda McIntire (Rich), Matthew Holland (Kelly), Angela Holland (Joe Gallegos) and Leona Andrews and six great grandchildren, Grace McIntire, Jackson McIntire, Gabbie McIntire, Emma McIntire, Everleigh Holland and Parker Holland.

Dot was an avid gardener until her age caught up with her.  She loved to be outside enjoying God’s creation and all his creatures.  She would sit for hours watching the birds in her trees and trying to identify all the different types of birds as well as all the types of trees, bushes and flowers that she grew or visited at various botanical gardens.  She provided a warm and loving home for her children and grandchildren.  She was always seeing the best in others and was warm and caring with all she met.  She never seemed to worry and always told her children that everything will work out.  “It’s all in God’s hands” she would tell anyone that was worrying about something in their lives. She was the epitome of the “Que Sera, Sera” or “Hakuna Matata” mentality of living.  She enjoyed her years in Mississippi when her husband was transferred there as well as when he was transferred to Colorado.  They returned to New Jersey to be close to her sisters and we brought her back to Colorado after her husband Jim passed away.

She leaves a lot of wonderful memories for all her family and friends.

Contributions in lieu of flowers, in her honor, can be made to either:  The Alzheimer’s Association or the National Kidney Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Rundus Funeral Home
