Emily Prieskorn passed away on May 18, 2021 at her home in Firestone.
She lived to be 90 years old. Emily was born on August 13, 1930 in Massachusetts to Joseph and Angelique (Lajoie) Messier. She married her love of her life Dean Alvin Prieskorn on December 31, 1952 they moved to Longmont from New York in 1953. Before their marriage Emily was a secretary after moving to Colorado, she embraced being a homemaker, mother and working on the family farm. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Frederick, CO. Emily was an avid Bronco fan, holding season tickets since 1959.
She enjoyed bowling (50 years); playing cards, especially with her sisters and brothers. She belonged to a quilting club and enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren, she also enjoyed gardening – especially her roses. What she most enjoyed was spending time with her daughters and their families. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and hearing their stories. Her chocolate chip cookies and her rolls will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; her daughter Stacey Jones in 2019; her grandson Daniel Jones in 2012; her parents; five brothers and four sisters. Emily is survived by her daughters Karen (Karl) Miller, Cindy (Sam) DeSantis, Denise (Jim) Vogl and Sherry Prieskorn. Her son in law Mike Jones (Widower of Stacey Jones); her sister Rita Titus; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.
Visitation will be from 10:00-10:30am with Rosary Prayers beginning at 10:30am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am all at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Frederick on Monday May 24, 2021. Burial at Foothills Gardens of Memory. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.
