January 16, 1923 - January 14, 2022
Esther Arndt went home to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully on Friday January 14, 2022 at Ashley Manor in Evans, Colorado. She was just two days short of her 99th Birthday. She was born at home on January 16, 1923 in Severance, Colorado to Wilhelm and Katarina Rutz the 8th of 13 children.
Most of her youth was spent in Windsor, Colorado on the Rutz family farm. Esther met her future husband Sam Arndt when she was 14 years old and they would later marry on December 13, 1941. In 1947 they bought and moved to Sam's parent's farm outside of Loveland and Grandpa and Grandma Arndt moved into Loveland. The Arndt family farm, especially Esther's kitchen table, will long be remembered as a welcoming place by family, friends and neighbors. The coffee was always on and home baked cookies and cakes were always available along with fun conversation, laughter and maybe a card game or two.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband Sam of 62 years, son George Arndt, sisters Marie Grauberger, Ruth Lesser, Elma Easter, Alice Meisner, and Wilma Winter and brothers Henry Rutz, Wilhelm Rutz and Wilbert Rutz.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Gary Arndt and wife Tina, Sandi Fellows and husband Mark and Keith Arndt, her grandchildren Bill Arndt (Shirley), Misty Arndt (Luckie), Jason Arndt (Erica), Justin Arndt (Marta), Brooke Fellows, Scott Fellows (Ashley) along with nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday February 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Kibbey-Fishburn funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
