Freda Waneta Pilger, 93, began her life eternal on Sunday, May 21, 2023. She passed away peacefully in Longmont, Colorado.
A Colorado native, Freda was born in Alamosa on April 8, 1930 to William and Ella Leck. She married Jerry Leroy Pilger and they remained happily so until the time of his passing. Freda’s life was dedicated to her family. She stayed at home to raise her six children. She was an extraordinary woman, both strong and kind. Her faith was always of great importance and she could often be found reading her bible and highlighting passages that were near to her heart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Freda will be missed and lovingly remembered by her children Charlene Gurly, Diana Keck, Don Pilger, John Pilger, and Cheryl Truax, 23 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and by her sister, Betty Schroth. She joins in Heaven her husband, Jerry Pilger and her son Jim Dickman, as well as her parents, her sister Glenna Collins, and her brothers Curtis Leck, Jack Leck and Bill Leck.
A Celebration of Freda’s Life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Fort Collins, Colorado. Friends and family are invited for a time of fellowship and remembrance following the service. For those that wish to say a final goodbye, a time of viewing will be available from 10:00am until the service begins.
