MAY 24, 1991 – MARCH 1, 2021
Gary Dean Kolln (Ackelson) passed away March 1, 2021 in Loveland, CO. He was just 29 years old.
Gary was born in Longmont, Colorado. His mother is Kimberly Ackelson and father is Terry Ackelson Sr. Gary Grew up in Monroe, Ohio and Longmont, Colorado. He graduated from Lakota East High School in 2010, and moved back to Colorado right after graduation.
Gary was a very special person that cared about everyone and helped many people. He would give his last dollar if you needed it. Gary was loved by all who knew him. Gary loved building and going to haunted houses, fishing, and hanging with all his family and friends and his dogs, Maxx and Sloan. Most of all he loved riding his dirt bike with his best friends Curtis Nyborg, Jake Welch, and Cody Vogel.
Gary’s long time childhood friend was Gunner Ness. His family followed us back to Ohio and the two truly loved each other like brothers - always fighting and making up. They had a bond back then, as he did with all his close friends.
Gary worked doing lawn care and he always took great pride in his work. He worked at Anderson Farms from 2010 thru 2019. Gary most recently worked with his father, Terry Ackelson, at Rocky Mountain Home Inspections. He was learning the trade and his father was so proud of him, but he always made his dad nervous getting up on those roofs.
Our son was a true shining light for our family and there will not be one day he isn't still by my side and truly loved and missed.
Gary was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Charlotte Nelson, and Ernest and Dixie Ackelson, his grandfather, Richard Ackelson, his uncles, Mike Green and Eddie Auldridge, and by his aunt, Jill Rivoli. He is survived by great-grandfather, Harvey Nelson; grandmothers Lorraina Ackelson and Nancy Martinez; his father, Terry Ackelson Sr. (Allana Adams), and mother, Kimberly Ackelson; brothers, Adrain Valdez and T.J.
