Gerald Baxter departed Feb 16, 2021. He was born to Glen and Ruth Baxter on July 16, 1931 in La Junta CO. He was the eldest of three children. Jerry was raised on his parent’s farm in Cheraw CO. He graduated from Cheraw Public school in 1949. He attended 1 year of college at CSU Fort Collins before joining the Air Force during the Korean War. He was stationed at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls TX where he met his wife who also was stationed there as a nurse, MaryAnn Wychunas. They were married Jan 1, 1952 and they had three children, Valerie, Doug and Craig. The couple raised their children in Cheraw until a farming accident forced Jerry to pursue a different path. They moved to Pueblo and while MaryAnn worked as a nurse at Parkview  Hospital, Jerry returned to college and earned his degree in accounting and economics.. After graduating they moved to Broomfield Co. where they resided for the rest of their lives.

Jerry is proceeded in death by his parents Glen and Ruth Baxter, sister Judy Crosson, grandson Jared Ward, granddaughter in-law Katy Ward and his wife of 60 years MaryAnn. He is survived by his sister Marilyn Cotton, children Valerie (Kelly) Ward of Denver, Doug (Jean) Baxter of Pueblo and Craig (Rayanne ) Baxter of Katy TX. Grandchildren Ryan, Alanna, Jeremy, Lindsay, Tawny, Tara, Ethan and Logan. Great grandchildren Ryan, Hunter, Rhyse, Seamus, Elayna, Liam, Sawyer and Cora.

A memorial service will be held later in June in Rocky Ford, CO.
