OCTOBER 26, 1929 – MAY 1, 2023

Glen Gates went home to be with Jesus on May 1st 2023 in his home at the age of 93. Glen was born to Orin and Hazel Gates on October 26th 1929 in Lawrence, Kansas.

In high school he ran track and was offered a scholarship to Kansas University but chose to work and start his career as a butcher and grocery store owner. He owned stores in Fort Collins, Loveland and Platteville, Colorado for over 50 years. He loved the grocery business. He was an honest and hardworking businessman.

Glen met his wife, Ann, in 1946 in Topeka, Kansas. They married in 1949 and went on to have 3 children; Trish, Glenda and Mike. They were married for 73 years. In 1967 they moved to Loveland and always viewed it as a blessing to have lived here.

Glen enlisted in the Army in 1948. He served 13 years in the Army Reserves and retired as a Master Sergeant.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband and father, Glen also loved fishing, bowling, playing poker and spending time with his family.

Glen joins his parents, two sisters and one brother in death. Glen is survived by his wife, Ann of Loveland, Colorado; his two daughters, Trish (Tony) Riccio and Glenda (Rick) Newton; and his son, Mike (Teresa) Gates; along with 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, with another due in July.
