Gwendolyn Mary (Bacon) Macaulay of Windsor and Loveland CO, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Village in Ft. Collins on January 16, 2023, at the age of 88.

Gwen was born on February 8, 1934 in Portland Oregon to Victor and Martha Bacon. She spent her early years in the Gresham and Boring areas of Oregon and graduated from Gresham Senior High School. Her parents owned the Gresham Skating Rink and she loved competitive roller skate dancing as a teenager.

Gwen married Howard V. Gilmore upon his return from the Korean War and they had two children, Kirk “Rocky” and Karlyn. The marriage did not last and she became a working single mom while her children were still in grade school. She worked in the field of finance and excelled as an accountant and office manager.

Later in life she married Thomas Macaulay, which included welcoming 3 stepsons, Timothy, Daniel, and Michael. They lived in Oregon, California, and finally settled in Las Vegas Nevada.  In 2006 Thomas passed away and she moved to Colorado to be closer to her son Rocky.

Gwen enjoyed spending time with her family, trips to the beach, watching college football and basketball, dancing, puzzles, and games. She unashamedly belonged to Alcoholics Anonymous and was grateful for her over 30 years of sobriety. Through AA she found a vibrant faith in God which was a great comfort to her in her later years.

Gwen is survived by her sister, Geneve Rolli of Boring Oregon, her children Rocky (Michelle) Gilmore, Karlyn (Steve) Sellards, Tim (Wayne) Macaulay, Daniel Macaulay and Michael Macaulay.  Grandchildren Aaron (Brandi) Gilmore, Teresa (Christina) Gilmore, Heather Sellards, Olivia Sellards, and Jenniffer Coons, her great-grandchildren Nicolas, Rylan, and Jameson Gilmore. Gwen also loved her niece Roberta (Dale) Jackson and her nephew Richard Rolli.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

No local services will be held. Inurnment will be at Cliffside Cemetery in Sandy Oregon, where she and Thomas will be buried together, on a date to be determined in the future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sandy Historical Society at https://www.sandyhistory.com/
